Africa CDC Applauds Inclusion of Health in Eastern DRC Peace Accord<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The US government has formally recognised the importance of public health in the peace process for the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), a move that has been warmly welcomed by Africa CDC. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr Jean Kaseya applauded the US Department of State\u2019s announcement that a dedicated public health pillar will be included within the economic and critical minerals component of the peace accord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr Kaseya attributed this milestone to Africa CDC\u2019s persistent advocacy – supported by the US, the DRC and Rwanda – to elevate health as a strategic priority in peacebuilding efforts. He emphasised that health is not only a basic human right but also a catalyst for peace, resilience and sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
