The division consists of three units, namely the unit of endemic diseases and neglected tropical diseases, that of non-communicable diseases and mental health, and that of universal healthcare coverage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Main objective<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To strengthen Africa\u2019s Health systems for the control and prevention of communicable and non\u00a0communicable diseases to achieve positive health outcomes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Strategic Objectives<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To build and strengthen capacity of Member States to prevent and control non-communicable diseases\u00a0and mental ill-health<\/li><li>To build and strengthen capacity of Member States to prevent and control endemic diseases and neglected tropical diseases<\/li><li>To build and strengthen capacity of Member States for integrated and sustainable community health workers programs on the continent towards Universal Health Coverage<\/li><li>To operationalize and strengthen regional integrated surveillance and laboratory networks (RISLNET) in the regions to rapidly identify and respond to public health threats across the continent<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Establishing and strengthening capacity of Member States to prevent and control endemic diseases, neglected tropical diseases, and non-communicable diseases, including mental health<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":9040,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"template":"","tags":[],"thematic-area":[],"region":[],"country":[],"class_list":["post-9037","programme","type-programme","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.3 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Division of Disease Control and Prevention &#8211;
